At Arcos Hermanos, we are adopting eco-friendly measures to reduce plastic in our packaging. We have replaced plastic sleeves with recyclable cardboard for all table cutlery, and reduced waste through the use of master boxes. In addition, we are working to replace plastic packaging with heat-sealed cardboard, simplifying recycling.

We provide educational programs and specialized training to our customers on the proper care and maintenance of their knives. In addition, we offer sharpening services to help them extend the lifespan of their kitchen tools.

This has a direct effect on reducing waste and decreasing how often new knives need to be purchased. In addition, we offer replacement parts, which minimize the need for disposal, contributing to a more efficient use of natural resources.

We care about preserving our natural resources. That is why we incorporate FSC-certified wood in several of our products, contributing to responsible forest management and the protection of biodiversity. In our processes, we minimize waste by efficiently recycling leftover materials such as steel and plastic.

In addition, we have established an internal water circuit that reduces not only our water consumption but also our energy footprint. We also explore more eco-friendly alternatives for the industry through a recycled plastics research program.

To achieve a significant reduction in our carbon footprint, it is essential to start with an accurate calculation of our emissions. This detailed process allows us not only to understand the magnitude of our environmental impact, but also to identify specific areas that require improvement.

The carbon footprint calculation has been carried out taking into account Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, which has allowed us to obtain the "Calculo" seal for 2023.

As part of our sustainable mobility initiatives, we are expanding our facilities with more bicycle parking spaces and plan to renew our vehicle fleet with hybrid or electric models in 2024.

We work with 100% renewable energy sources and are committed to generating 10% of our energy through solar panels, making use of clean, natural resources.

Our commitment to sustainability is also reflected in waste management, with the implementation of a robust recycling plan across our facilities. To reduce energy consumption, we have replaced traditional lighting with high-efficiency LED technology and upgraded our refrigeration systems to lower energy use. In addition, we rigorously monitor and control water, gas, and electricity consumption in real time to take proactive measures and minimize our environmental impact.

As a result of these initiatives, we have earned the "Reduzco" seal, with a 6.48% reduction in average emission intensity for the 2021-2023 period compared to the 2020-2022 period, for Scope 1+2.

We strive to implement sustainable measures that care for our environment and offset our carbon footprint. On March 4, 2023, we carried out a tree-planting initiative on one hectare in Madrigueras, Albacete, to reduce our impact on climate change. This initiative was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the company's employees and their families, who actively participated in the planting. In 2024, we carried out a second one-hectare planting. We are committed not only to continuing these annual one-hectare plantings on different lands, but also to maintaining them properly to ensure their growth and effectiveness. Through these actions, we aim to contribute continuously to the fight against climate change and strengthen our environmental commitments.

Thanks to these initiatives, we have earned the "Compenso" seal for 2023. The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge of Spain has completed the review and registration of our offset project, granting us the Certificate of Registration in the absorption projects section of the Carbon Footprint, Offset, and Carbon Dioxide Absorption Projects registry
